A2 is a session law a(2) permit that is like a hybrid permit between the licensed soil scientist and the local county government. the licensed soil scientist performs the design work and the county performs the final inspection. The county can charge up to %40 of the cost of a county septic application.

An EOP is an Engineered Option Permit. It is a fully private option where the Licensed Soil Scientist and a Professional Engineer work together to design the septic system and perform the final inspection. An EOP is required on certain systems that have a high gallon per day flow rate or are advanced complicated systems. The county can only charge up to $35 for a filing fee.
